P R A Y ...

1. For the Church: that we may
be transfigured more and more
into the image and likeness of Christ.

2. For the grace to listen: that
we may hear the voice of Christ
in prayer, in events, and in relationships so that we may respond more fully to God’s invitation.

3. For freedom from fear: that God will cleanse our hearts of
fear and help us to live in the freedom of the Children of God.

4. For all who are facing crisis, loss, or low points in their lives: that they may experience the transforming grace of God to
grow in their trust of God to
bring forth change and a new beginning.

5. For all who are trying to discern their calling in life: that they may make space in the busyness of life to let God’s
Word move their hearts.

6. For all the descendants of Abraham, for Jews, Muslims, and Christians: that we honor all that we share in common and work together to overcome evil that ensnares human hearts.

7. For all who are unemployed: that God will open new resources and opportunities for them to use their gifts and support their families.

8. For all who are in dangerous situations especially members of the military: that God will guide them each day and preserve them from harm.

9. For the gift of peace, that
God will open the eyes of all to the value and dignity of each human person and teach us new ways resolve conflicts.

10. For all who have died especially
William Vandenberg: that they may live in the light and peace of God’s presence forever.

VOCATIONS CRUCIFIX - ST. BENEDICT CHURCH ~

2nd SUNDAY IN LENT ~ Lent calls each of us, inviting us deeper into the mystery of the Incarnation. It is a season of active journey with Jesus that forms us for discipleship. Transformation is the process of Lent; uncertainty and fear, its challenges. Hints of Easter wonder are contained in today’s story, yet the arduous journey to Jerusalem is still ahead. When we make this journey with Jesus each Lent, we are transformed into disciples. Like the earlier disciples we can feel overwhelmed and fearful. To each of us today’s readings say very simply: be not afraid. With Jesus, trust, risk, model your “yes” on his.
